A Kwanzaa Message From Crossroads

As we embark on the dawn of Kwanzaa, the staff of Crossroads Theatre Company and myself wish you and your loved ones a meaningful holiday time. This is a special time of year that begins with counting our blessings at Thanksgiving and walking into the holiday season celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas. Even with the challenges and unprecedented events of 2020, it is our hope you have the happiest time yet.
Black people are Black culture and Black culture is Black people. As a Black theatre, the stories we tell of a people and their culture are the heartbeat and drumbeat of Crossroads existence. We thrive and succeed on the wealth of our stories and the spirit and voices of our imagination. The seven principles of Kwanzaa are tenets we are mindful of everyday, and especially this time of year, and figures into all we do. They are the foundation of how we exist for and lead in our community. In short, these principles of Kwanzaa represent seven good ways to live your life.
